Night in the Forest

A bike ride a friend and I took along a deserted logging road at dusk where we witnessed a commotion between a couple of giant ravens planted the seeds in my mind for this newest series of paintings. An imaginary walk through the forest at night, propelled along a mystical path by music and poetry. Words from the journals of Emily Carr as well as a verse from a well known Robert Frost poem inspired these eight images.

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep.”
Robert Frost

All of these paintings are acrylic on canvas
